The new Scottish Rite Temple, or house of the Temple is situated on the corner of 16th and S Sts. The building is very imposing, and it is the most beautiful and costly Masonic Temple costing with furnishings $1,500,00. The sphinxes guarding the approach were hen out of great stones weighing 109,000 and 110,000 pounds, the largest ever quarried in America.
