Seminole Nation Mother's Day

Dublin Core

Title

Seminole Nation Mother's Day

Description

A group of women from the Seminole Nation in Miami celebrates their version of Mother's Day.

This postcard depicts 8 women who are a part of the Seminole Nation Tribe, standing in line holding their young children. They are all wearing vibrant yet traditional clothing, and are all wearing hats. They are celebrating their own version of Mother's Day, however, all of their expressions seem to be serious or uptight. We see palm trees in the background and clear blue skies. I believe this is an illustration that was done from an actual photograph

The only " Indian Nation " that has not signed a peace treaty with the U.S.A. still carries on in primitive fashion, the tribal lure of its ancestors in the Everglades, near Miami , Florida.

Dear Marjorie,
I hope you are glad at receiving this note. It is from one who still has to wear a coat. And the wind it does blow just like where you do have snow.
