Sacagawea,Pompi, and Seaman "Heart of the Gorge"
Cascade Locks, OR

Artist Heather Soderberg created this dynamic bronze of Lewis and Clark's Native American guide Sacagawea, her newborn infant Pompi, and their loyal Newfoundland dog Seaman. Cast locally by Soderberg Bronze Works, it was dedicated next to the Cascades Locks, Marine Park Visitors Center on April 13,2011, the 205th anniversary of Lewis and Clark's return trip through Cascade Locks. The Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler, also commissioned by the Port of Cascade Locks, appears on the Columbia River in the background.
