Postcards can depict a wide variety of things from the natural world including wild life. There are many post cards that depict beautiful animals and various locations, but one natural species that is commonly found throughout the post card world is the bird. There is a significantly large number of bird species that exist but this exhibit will look at five. For the most part, the FSU Card Archive database contains cards depicting birds native to Florida or the southeast. A common theme in these cards aside from the fact that they all contain birds, is the placement of the birds in the image. Everyone of these cards has the birds located in the center even though the sizes of these birds varies from large to small. This exhibit seeks to understand why these birds are present in the selected cards and the relationship between the each card's content and the bird itself.
